African Union Agenda 2063

The African Union Agenda 2063 provides a robust and aspirational framework for the continent’s long-term development. It is a 50-year blueprint for “inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development”.
The Wani IGGA FOUNDATION’s mandate resonates profoundly with several of the agenda’s key aspirations and goals.

Aspiration 1, envisions a “prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development,” with goals to end poverty, create jobs, and provide basic services such as health and education.
Aspiration 3 calls for “an Africa of good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law,” while Aspiration 4 focuses on a “peaceful and secure Africa”. Perhaps most critically,
Aspiration 6 emphasizes a “people-driven” continent that relies on the potential of its people, “especially its women and youth, and caring for children”.

The foundation’s holistic approach is a microcosm of this continental vision. By framing its work in the language and principles of Agenda 2063, WIF can elevate its mission from a localized response to a direct contribution to a pan-African movement.

A vocational training program for youth is not merely a local charity effort; it is a strategic investment in developing the human capital necessary for Africa’s transformation.

Likewise, initiatives focused on girls’ rights are not an isolated concern but a direct contribution to the continental goal of achieving “full gender equality in all spheres of life”. This alignment provides the foundation with a powerful strategic narrative, enabling it to appeal to a wider range of international donors and partners who are committed to achieving these shared goals.
