On behalf of Vice President James Wani Igga, who chairs the Economic Cluster, the Government of South Sudan and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) launched a USD 41.8 million Sustainable Agriculture Development Programme (SADEP) to improve food security and strengthen livelihoods for more than 100,000 people.
The seven-year programme will be implemented in Terekeka, Mundri West, Mvolo, and Bor counties, focusing on climate-smart agriculture, fisheries, nutrition, improved market access, and climate resilience.
The initiative aims to transform South Sudan’s agriculture sector, reduce dependence on imported food, and create new opportunities for farmers, women, and young people across the agricultural value chain.
